How ResearchBridge handles your data
Where your workspace is stored
Guest workspaces are stored in your browser. When account services are configured and you sign in, your workspace is also synchronized to the project database under your account. The banner at the top of workspace pages tells you which mode is active and whether synchronization failed.
External research and AI services
A literature search may send the search phrase to the configured scholarly data provider. When optional AI features are enabled, the relevant prompt and project context are sent to the configured AI provider to produce an editable draft. ResearchBridge does not send email on your behalf.
Usage measurement
ResearchBridge counts page visits, approximate daily active students, API requests, and AI requests so the service can be improved and kept within capacity. It uses a random browser identifier or signed-in account ID only after one-way hashing. Analytics counters do not store prompts, raw IP addresses, or user-agent strings.
Clearing your data
Guest data can be removed by clearing this site's browser storage. Signed-in users can export their workspace from Settings; server-side deletion requires the connected account service to be configured.
Student privacy
The application avoids collecting sensitive personal data it does not need. Database migrations include account ownership rules for private student records. AI output is treated as an editable suggestion and factual references should be checked against the linked source.
